Search Engine Marketing Experts

There are two primary components to search engine optimization, or SEO as it is sometimes called. The first is website content. The second is backlinks.

Website Content

Content, from a search engine's perspective, is another word for text, and it refers to the pages of your website where you have text (preferably in paragraphs). Of course, for human beings, content also refers to pictures, videos, graphics, colors, logos, etc., but a search engine can't read any of those things. You might be amazed to see a web page the way a search engine sees it. For instance, if you click here for Google's text only version of the page you are currently reading, you'll notice that Google doesn't pay any attention the logo, the video further down the page, or any of the other photos or graphics on the page. All it sees is the text.

Further, search engine marketing experts want to see lots of pages of text, and they want to see those pages properly interlinked. We're search engine marketing experts at not only adding content to your site but also evaluating how much content you need to add to improve your current search rankings. Basic optimization is about on-page factors, but interlinking of pages is even more important. In fact, it's the one factor most so-called SEO Experts are most likely to overlook, particularly on a large site.

Backlinks

A "backlink" is a link from another site to your site. The best backlinks come from sites that are either in the same field as yours or which write about your field in some important way. We have access to some very impressive backlink sources that can help your website's search engine rankings substantially.

No honest search engine marketing experts, no genuine search engine marketing experts, can promise to put you at #1 in the rankings, and we certainly won't promise it either. Anyone who does promise such a thing is lying to you, because the search engines are outside the control of all of us. See the video below for more information about that. However, having said that, let me also point out that chances are excellent you found our website via a search engine. In fact, we rank #1 or have a Top 10 position for more search terms in our field than most other web design, search marketing, and video website firms in Northern Virginia. That's something you should ask any search engine marketing experts who claims to be experts: can you show me where your own website ranks? It's easy to fake a claim that you got someone else's website great rankings, but the real test is where your own site ranks. If a search engine marketing expert can't prove they moved their own site to the top of the rankings, you know they can't be trusted where your website is concerned!

Where We Rank For Our Own Web Site

The way we see it, no self-described search engine marketing experts can really call themselves that if they cannot prove that they can get their own web sites to the top. So the following is a table showing our own site's rankings on Google and Bing as of August 11, 2011. As you can see, out of 102 keywords, we're #1 for 34 keywords on Google and for 35 keywords on Bing. We're also on the first page of results for 68 keywords on Google and 76 keywords on Bing.

As you can see, no one's perfect. Even we cannot put all of our keywords on page one of the search engine results, but we are also good enough to get more than 66% of our keywords on page one. That's the level of marketing expertise you should demand of anyone who works on your web site's search engine marketing.
